The Claudia Wannamaker Magnolia is an early flowering magnolia with a long blooming period. One of the characteristics that make it perfect for the Triangle is its ability to withstand snow and ice. It is a good stand alone tree and makes an excellent screen or large hedge. The flowers are smaller than traditional magnolias, and it is a moderate grower. The leaves are dark glossy green with rust-brown undersides.
